With Diwali around the corner, the Delhi government on Thursday chose to boycott crackers in the capital and increase clinical and medical surveillance in hospitals and clinics, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said after a survey of the COVID-19 circumstance.
Coronavirus cases have expanded in Delhi because of the continuous celebration season and contamination, the Chief Minister said after the audit meeting with the Chief Secretary, Health Department authorities and District Magistrates (DM).

Delhi has recorded a spike in COVID-19 cases in the previous scarcely any days with the quantity of everyday contaminations crossing the 6,000-mark for the second continuous day on Wednesday.

“Surveyed crown circumstance in Delhi and readiness with Chief Secretary, Health authorities and all DMs. Crown cases have expanded because of celebration season and contamination. It was chosen to: 1. Boycott fireworks in Delhi, 2. Increase medical infra, Oxygen and ICU beds are being expanded in Delhi govt medical clinics,” Mr. Kejriwal said in a tweet.
Prior in the day, the Chief Minister spoke to Delhiites not to blast fireworks this Diwali.
