Mahashay’ Dharampal Gulati, the proprietor and face of masala brand MDH Spices died on December 3. He was 97 years of age. 

As indicated by reports, Gulati was going through treatment at a medical clinic in New Delhi where he endured a heart failure on December 3 morning. 

Gulati was brought into the world in Sialkot (presently in Pakistan) on March 27, 1923 and later moved to India after the segment. He exited school and set up an independent venture in 1937 with the assistance of his dad Mahashay Chunni Lal Gulati, prior to joining the privately-run company of flavors. 

After the partition, Gulati opened a shop in Delhi’s Karol Bagh and restarted his privately-owned company of ground flavors under the “Mahashian Di Hatti of Sialkot” flag. MDH (Mahashian Di Hatti) presently has 15 manufacturing plants across India and fares almost 50 diverse sorts of flavors over the world. 

Gulati, lovingly called ‘Dadaji’ by certain, was apparently India’s most generously compensated shopper items CEO in 2017 when he brought home more than Rs 21 crore as pay. 

Regularly alluded to as the ‘Lord of Spices’, Gulati showed up in a few promotions of MDH items. Be that as it may, he was likewise known for his work towards improving the nature of instruction and was related with various instructive foundations. In 2019, he was granted the Padma Bhushan, India’s third most elevated non military personnel grant. 

Sympathies and accolades began pouring in when the information on Gulati’s death came in. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Twitter that “Dharm Pal ji was (a) extremely amusing character” who “devoted his life for the general public”. 

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik tweeted that he was “profoundly disheartened” by the news. “He was a sparkling signal of India’s innovative excursion who transformed MDH Spices into a notable brand. He will consistently be associated with his charitable work,” Patnaik said.
