New Parliament house will prevail for 150 years, its Houses can officiate 150% more MPs

New Parliament of India

The new parliament building will possess an existence of more than 150 years with more than 150% rise in seating facility, the central administration said on Thursday. While the inside of the new Lok Sabha will carry the composition of a peacock, the national bird, Rajya Sabha will include national flower lotus as its theme.

Besides the two Houses, the triangular building will amass a Constitution Hall that will display a real Constitution and a digital mode for people to go over page-by-page. This will be the only fraction of the building that will contain zero storeys.

The remainder of the complex will include four floors. Each floor will retain bureaus of ministers and committee cabins. The first floor will keep a dining area for a member of Parliament, VVIPs and tourists.

It will also include a prominent speakeasy. Besides being earthquake-proof, the new building will be eco-friendly and eat up considerably trivial energy.

“The project will be completed in time in 2022 and the winter session will be held here,” housing and urban affairs minister Hardeep Singh Puri said.

The government asserted the new parliament building is an urgency in the 21st century. The sculpture of Govind Ballabh Pant, presently placed between Raisina Road and Red Cross Road, will be moved to GB Pant Marg as the new building will employ more leeway.
Union housing and urban affairs secretary Durga Shankar Mishra notified TOI that all minute factors were unravelled while scheduling the building. “The four national symbols will find a place in the building. The National Emblem will be the crown of the building. In the courtyard, we will have a peepal (banyan), which is our national tree,” he added.

Officials said that the building will possess the most unique safety and surveillance operation. “The security check will be mostly non-intrusive,” said Bimal Patel, the architect of Central Vista redevelopment program. Dholpur and red stone from Rajasthan will be primarily employed.

The digital audio optical network positioned in front of every chair will carry ‘programmable rules-based microphones’, which will set the Speaker in the discretion of who gets to talk and who doesn’t. Every MP, minister and political party will receive office area here. These buildings will be attached to the parliament structure with a tunnel passage. “Reports of Sardar Patel Bhavan being demolished are speculative,” said another official.
