The updates on Indian music legend’s downfall was reported by his daughter Durga Jasraj.
Responding to the turn of events, President Ram Nath Kovind communicated sympathies and stated: “Music legend and unrivaled traditional vocalist Pandit Jasraj’s passing makes me tragic. Spreading over a recognized profession of more than 8 decades, Padma Vibhushan Pandit Jasraj, excited individuals with heartfelt interpretations. Sympathy to his family, companions and music experts.”
PM Narendra Modi additionally recollected the Indian old style music legend: “The heartbreaking death of Pandit Jasraj leaves a profound void in the Indian social circle. Indian traditional vocalist Pandit Jasraj turned 90 in January this year.
Pandit Jasraj was respected with Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri grants during his lifetime.
A year ago, the International Astronomical Union had named a minor planet, situated among Mars and Jupiter, after Pandit Jasraj, viewed as the doyen of Indian old style vocal music.
Minor planet 2006 VP32 (number-300128) was named as ‘Panditjasraj’.
The reference had perused: “Sangeet Martand Pandit Jasraj is a type of Indian old style vocal music. A day to day existence devoted to music, Jasraj is beneficiary of numerous honors, respects and titles. His unmistakable voice navigates striking four and a half octave.”

Prior this year, after turning 90, Pandit Jasraj had in a meeting with a news organization said that he is one who strolls with time.
“I educate through Skype. I propose everybody do it. I am strolling with time and that is the thing that one ought to do. I don’t care for when individuals state ‘Woh zamana acha tha’ (Those were the acceptable occasions),” he had told PTI.
“I accept the current stage is acceptable. One ought not contrast it and the past – positive or negative. One needs to stroll with time and at exactly that point you will like the current time,” the music legend included.

Pandit Jasraj’s first show was in 1952 when he performed before the then Nepal King Tribhuwan Bir Bikram Shah.
