Nokia 8.3 5G and Nokia 3.4 smartphone users are facing issues with the camera app as the camera app was crashing down. The Nokia users have commented on Nokia Community Forum that the native Nokia camera app is crashing but the third-party camera apps are working properly.

Nokia 8.3 5G and Nokia 3.4: Specifications

Nokia 8.3 5G is running on Android 10 comes with Snapdragon 765G processor with 8GB RAM/128GB RAM, 4500 mAh battery and 6.81 inch FHD+ display. It has ZEISS optics quad-camera setup on the back and 24 MP front camera.

Nokia 3.4 is running on Android 10 and includes a 6.4-inch HD+ display, Snapdragon 460 processor, 3GB RAM with 64GB expandable storage, and 4000mAh battery. It has a triple camera setup on the back.

Temporary Workaround for the Nokia 8.3 5G and Nokia 3.4 Users

Laura, Nokia community moderator has acknowledged the camera crash and wrote a temporary workaround for the Nokia users:

Workaround:[1]

1) Go to your settings

2) Open ‘System’

3) Select ‘Date & time’

4) Turn off ‘Use network-provided time’ (UK) or ‘Automatic date & time’ (US)

5) Adjust the date to 2020 – 12 – 30 (or earlier)

6) Open the camera which will now work normally

[Step 7 and 8 can be skipped by Nokia 3.4 Users]

7) Go to camera settings

8) Disable ‘Scene detection’

9) Go back to settings

10) Open ‘System’

11) Select Date & time

12) Turn on ‘Use network-provided time’ (UK) or ‘Automatic date & time’ (US)

Nokia 8.3 5G and Nokia 3.4 Camera Bug

As per the users and multiple reports, both Nokia 8.3 5G and Nokia 3.4 users are getting the camera stopped prompt while using the camera app. The camera stopped prompt appears as soon as the camera app opens.

Even the Nokia 9 Pureview users are also facing issues with the camera for a long time. The camera of the Nokia 9 PureView produces clicking sounds while the camera app is used. Nokia users believe that it’s a hardware issue and it also affects third-party apps like Instagram and Whatsapp.

Temporary Fix Issued by HMD (Have My Data Global)

The OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) has provided a temporary fix to resolve the camera bug but it resolved the problem for several Nokia 8.3 5G and Nokia 3.4 users. The latest OS update is expected in Q1 2021 for Nokia users.
